Yes. And... it's really complicated. We would love to live in a world where the cotton and flax we need grew in our backyard and the digital printers were made with recycled straws and used only vegetable dyes. Sadly, this world does not exist... yet.
So instead, we opted for what we think is the next best thing, paying attention and doing better every time. So we find the best quality raw material as close to the source as possible. Cotton grown in rural India is fantastic and velvet from China, so, we work with the families that run small factories and leverage their knowledge to produce the product in the most sustainable way possible. We plan as far ahead as we can so we can ship large amounts of product efficiently.
All that said... the key to really contributing to the future? Make something beautiful and valuable. Something that people want and will last a long time. It might be a little prideful for us to say... but we think we do that pretty well.
